Seis Voces
Presented by Ballet East Dance Company
Description
Ballet East Dance Company presents an evening of original choreographies anchored by exciting new works from Juan P. Flores, Melissa Villarreal, Sharon Marroquin, Dixon Mena, Aurelio P. Rodriguez, and Miguel Marroquin.
“I chose to call our Fall Production “SEIS VOCES” because each dancer, each choreographer possesses something unique inside to express,” says Rodolfo Mendez, director of Ballet East. “Our mission is to find it and give it voice.” The expression of individual passion reaches and touches the audience.”
The Company is also presenting Mexican Folkloric dancers by Ballet East’s award-winning outreach program. “We teach beginning students at Metz Recreation Center and maintain a permanent performing troupe of program graduates and other interested participants,” explains Rodolfo Mendez, Artistic Director. Recently, the program hired Miguel Marroquin, former dancer with Amalia Hernandez Ballet Folklorico de Mexico who has developed the skills of the students with more challenging choreography and intricate steps.
